Post-Surgery Shapewear: A Gentle Guide to Comfort During Recovery

Whether you're recovering from a tummy tuck, liposuction, a C-section or breast surgery, the right compression garment can help you feel supported and more comfortable as you heal. One rule comes before everything else: always follow your surgeon's instructions on which garment, what compression stage, when to begin, and how long to wear it each day. The notes below are general guidance, not medical advice.

What to look for in a recovery garment:

  • Easy closures. Front hook-and-zip or adjustable hooks make it easy to put on and take off when you're sore — and a fabric-backed closure keeps metal away from your incisions.
  • Comfort features. A perineal (bathroom) opening, soft breathable fabric for sensitive skin, and lumbar support all make long recovery days easier.
  • An adjustable fit. Swelling goes down over time, so adjustable hooks and bands let you keep a snug, comfortable fit throughout your recovery.
  • The right size. Don't choose a size too small. A comfortable, even compression is usually best — and your surgeon can advise on sizing.

What to wear: Browse our dedicated Post-Surgical collection, including the Post-Surgical Faja with Medium Compression. We also carry calf-length compression girdles, breast and chest compression wraps, and back-support pieces.
